Empowering Schools to be No Place for Hate

Melia Dunn, Anti-Defamation League

Location: Desert Star

ADL’s No Place for Hate Initiative provides schools and communities with an organizing framework for combating bias, bullying and hatred, leading to long-term solutions for creating and maintaining a positive climate. Through an interactive session, participants will hear from staff and students that have embraced No Place for Hate and identify best practices and assessment for their own school’s readiness to join the Initiative. (School climate and culture, equity, diversity)

Melia Dunn directs anti-bias programming for youth and educators with a focus on the No Place for Hate® Initiative. Prior to ADL, Melia served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Albania, focusing on youth leadership development and facilitating culture and communications trainings for incoming trainees.  She has a B.A. degree from Penn State University where her focus was Interpersonal Communications and Conflict Resolution.
